We spent 5 days in El Chalten awaiting a good weather window doing 4x hikes, 1x 5-pitch multipitch climb, 1 bouldering afternoon and tons of eating and drinking. Then 10 days traversing the ice-cap, surrounded by formidable mountains, walking up and down glaciers, falling into crevasses, crossing icy rivers, melting snow for water and sleeping on ice and under the stars. Best adventure yet!!!

Wow! What an achievement. Many congratulations to you all and to Richard in particular for safely getting you there and back. He certainly is a master at what he does!! We were able to follow you every step of the way with that fantastic tracker system. The updates were helpful to because we could actually read about what you were doing and where you were.

A rather belated but sincere thank you to you and your team for making our week in Lanjaron so successful and enjoyable. The effort you put in in organising and adjusting walks to suit our varying meeds as well as the relaxed atmosphere your team exuded made for a really wonderful week acclaimed by many as the best away week ever for Fitzamblers. I just want to say how much I enjoyed my trip on Monday with James. He was very good company and knows the mountains, just as well because the mist came down on our decent. Despite my recent Kilimanjaro trip, I did find the altitude a bit of a problem as I struggled over the last stages, I guess it was lack of acclimatisation. It was day 5 when we did the final Kili climb. 3,483m is not to be sneezed at (wheezed at??).

The weekend trek went well, the ascent at some points I found bit harder than expected but it was my first time up a mountain this high. I'm hoping to convince a few more friends to hike up to Mulhacen, if things go well I hope to be in contact again to arrange help for winter ascents, winter skills training, a guided winter ascent etc.

I would definitely recommend this trip to others. A great challenge and fantastic views make the uphill exertion completely worthwhile!
